FANS of EastEnders have been patiently waiting on the news that Zoe Slater will be making her grand return to Albert Square.
It’s a moment die-hard lovers of the TV soap have been waiting for for over two decades now after Zoe – played by actress Michelle Ryan – left the program back in 2005.

Zoe left the show after becoming entangled in the murder of Den Watts, but she has since been seen in a couple of episodes in the run up to being fully reintegrated into the programme.
Once the final episode featuring Zoe aired on June 24th 2005, the series left off with her living a new life in Spain.
She had lost contact with her family, including her on-screen mother Kat Moon (Jessica Wallace).
Fans were all geared up for what was being deemed as the “mother of all reunions”, seeing the family come back together, only to hear that the BBC has pushed adding Zoe’s comeback episode to iPlayer until the evening of its release day.
The episode would normally be available on the platform from 6am.
No official reason has been stated for the delay, but since the episode is so big it makes sense that it’s being televised first.
The broadcasting company confirmed that the new episode of EastEnders will be available on BBC iPlayer and BBC One on Wednesday 3rd of September.
In the meantime Executive Producer Ben Wadey has been ramping up anticipation for the episode, hinting that Zoe’s past is going to follow her back to Walford.
“As Zoe makes her dramatic return to Walford next week, more than one secret in her past will come to light as we look to explore the reasons behind her return, and what has happened in the past 20 years to make her the person she is today.”
The last few episodes of the show have prominently featured Zoe’s mother Kat, creating the perfect circumstances to slot Zoe back into the cast.
EastEnders fans in hysterics as they spot Kat Slater’s blunder – did you notice it?
Kat has been frantic, looking to find her missing son Tommy (Sonny Kendall), who went off to try and find Zoe.
We’re yet to see how Kat reacts to suddenly seeing her daughter back in their hometown, especially given their rocky history.
Though it’s safe to say the episode is shaping up to be a juicy one.
