Joy to the World

Christmas is here, and Salem’s residents are taking the time to celebrate the holiday. Xander (Paul Telfer) and Sarah (Linsey Godfrey) enjoy the Christmas festivities. After a tough year, those two

are undoubtedly counting their blessings. They have Victoria, Sarah is walking, Xander’s mom hightailed it out of town, Xander didn’t unnecessarily kill Brady (Eric Martsolf), and he still has 50%

of the Kiriakis empire…at least for now.

Remember how Eli (Lamon Archey), Lani (Sal Stowers), Jules, and Carver visited for Thanksgiving? Well, they’re already back for Christmas. But the beautiful family has returned for another purpose, too. Eli, Lani, Abe (James Reynolds), and Paulina (Jackée Harry) are celebrating the twins’ birthday. It’s a double dose of fun for the family.

Business As Usual

Belle (Martha Madison) and EJ (Dan Feuerriegel) recently had a run-in when Tate (Leo Howard) asked her to represent Aaron’s (Louis Tomeo) doctor brother Mark (Jonah Robinson). After all, he attempted to kill Chad (Billy Flynn) and tampered with the results of the DNA test that should have proved early on that Cat (AnnaLynne McCord) was not Chad’s wife, Abigail (formerly Marci Miller).

Needless to say, Belle kicked EJ’s butt. EJ was ready to send Mark down the river for ten years. Belle knew the District Attorney was railroading the situation. As a result, Belle managed to get Mark an 18-month sentence. The exchange between Belle and EJ got heated (and very much flirtatious), but EJ has to be EJ. Instead of taking the defeat maturely, he asks Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) to fire Belle as a legal consultant for DiMera. What will Kristen do?

Odds & Ends

Wow, Rafe (Galen Gering) kinda sorta comes through for Leo. The newly crowned Black Patch detective delivers Hattie (Deidre Hall) to Leo (Greg Rikaart). How long do you think it’ll take for them to realize that Hattie isn’t the culprit? She didn’t steal the spoilers or send laced cupcakes to the Body & Soul cast and crew. Although Hattie is shady, and she’s done time, so we’re only 90% ruling her out.

From Hattie to Marlena. Deidre Hall pulls double duty next week when Marlena confides in Brady how much she’s missing John (the late Drake Hogestyn). She simply wants her husband to come home during the holidays. We’re so glad she’s able to open up to Brady. Hopefully, she will continue to lean on him.

Finally, Tate and Holly (Ashley Puzemis) share an intimate moment. How he’s able to do that when he’s harboring a mammoth secret is beyond us. Sophia (Madelyn Kientz) just shared a game-changing confession with Tate. They came up with a plan, but keeping it a secret from Holly will backfire on him. He knows that, right?
