Coronation Street fans havenât hidden what appears to be their delight as they spotted details of another âdownfallâ after it was confirmed grommer Megan Walsh will be caught in upcoming scenes â but itâs not an out-and-out villain.
Spoilers for upcoming episodes of the ITV soap have suggested that DC Kit Green could be found out, after it was revealed he was the one behind Mal Roperâs recent attack.
As Corrie fans will recall, Kit arrived in Weatherfield back in 2024 when Bernie Winter went on a mission to find her long-lost son, Zodiac. When she found Kit, she posed as a cleaner to get into his house before rifling through his drawers.
When she was caught red-handed, Bernie had to explain why she was really there, but Kit lied and said he wasnât adopted. However, it was later confirmed that Bernie had found her long-lost son and the pair didnât have the best of starts.
But, now Kit is risking his career as he lies about what really happened with Mal, after discovering his worrying obsession with his mother. As Corrie fans know, newcomer Mal took a shine to Bernie after a drink and drug-fuelled night in the Chariot Square Hotel.
Having picked up some work as an electrician at Royâs Rolls, where Bernie works, Mal made his feelings clear for Bernie, despite her insistance that she was happily married to her husband, Dev Alahan.
Eventually, with Mal watching her from across the street she told him, under no uncertain terms, that if he didnât leave her alone, sheâd kill him. Kit was concerned for his mum, and wanted her to report Malâs behaviour, but she was more interested in telling Dev the full truth about her night at the hotel.
However, it wasnât long until Kit was handed a new case, and discovered the man who had been attacked was Mal, and that he was in a serious condition. While Kit tried to figure out what to do, he was beaten to it by a colleague and police officers soon arrived at Royâs and arrested Bernie in front of a shocked Dev, suspecting she was responsible for the attack.

Kit will speak to witness, Barry, in next weekâs Corrie(Image: ITV)
However, Kit was later seen admitted to his girlfriend Sarah Platt that he was the one who confronted Mal. âI didnât kick him or hit him or anything like that. I grabbed him, gave him a shove and warned him off,â he explained. âHeâs had a heart attack â he would have had one anyway. I thought itâd blow over but Bernie doesnât have an alibi.â
Mal has since been in a serious condition in the hospital and now, Corrie spoilers for next week have revealed that DS Lisa Swain quizzes Kit about the recent attack on Mal. Kit gives nothing away but when Lisa reveals a witness has come forward, heâs forced to mask his unease.
Once again taking matters into his own hands, Kit ambushes the witness outside the station, but Barry recognises him immediately as the man who attacked Mal. Later, Lisa reveals that Mal has regained consciousness. Kit visits Mal in hospital and questions him about the attack.
And Corrie fans think it could lead to Kitâs own downfall. @JukeTVBox said: âLisa questioning Kit next week #Corrie.â @Izzy1728047 commented: âMeganâs downfall begins! Lisa questioning Kit! I am buzzing for next week!! #Corrie #Swarla.â @TheConnorSwains wrote: âLisa questioning Kit! #Swarla #Corrie,â alongside a GIF of Betsy Swain crying âYes!â
But @SwainsCoat noted: âAll this for him to threaten the witness, then threaten Mal and this all gets brushed under the carpet and itâs never mentioned again until he does this for the 88th time.â @LadyReignFC also added: âKit possibly going down for the least horrible thing heâs ever done is frying me.â
