Lauren Branning (Jacqueline Jossa) and Peter Beale (Thomas Law) have finally put their differences to one side following a nightmarish ordeal.
As viewers of the soap have seen, the two’s relationship has become incredibly fractured in the wake of their newborn son Jimmy’s visual impairment diagnosis.
Peter was quick to blame Lauren, given her painkiller addiction while she was pregnant, and she accepted that she was probably responsible.
Tensions began to rise again in yesterday’s instalment, when the couple headed to the hospital for the results of Jimmy’s genetic tests.
The doctor confirmed that he was suffering from a random mutation, and that she’d seen no correlation between opioid abuse and his condition.
As Lauren and Peter took in the news, he tried to offer somewhat of a pathetic apology for his actions over recent weeks. She was furious, and stormed out.
Unfortunately, the situation only worsened when he lashed out at Zack Hudson (James Farrar) for kissing her during a low point in their relationship.

Knowing that the situation couldn’t go on any longer, Lauren and Peter went home for yet another row, unaware that eldest son Louie had walked off with Jimmy and left the house.
In the most recent instalment, as a search party gathered to track them down, Louie was sat inside of a tunnel at a play park, trying to calm his younger brother and assuring him that everything would be ok.
Luckily, it wasn’t long before Jay Brown (Jamie Borthwick) tracked them down, and brought the boys back to Albert Square.
Their parents were relieved – but concerned that Louie’s choice to run away had been stemmed by their arguments. The youngster explained that he was worried that Jimmy would be able to hear them, but because he can’t see, he wouldn’t know where the noise was coming from.
As Lauren and Peter tried to reassure their son, he kissed her on the head. It became clear that despite everything, they still care about each other dearly.
Lauren laid out her concerns – believing them both to be cursed – and he said he felt sick for making her feel so bad. Peter’s face dropped as she rushed off to the play room, but there was a surprise twist.
She produced their engagement ring, which he placed on her finger, and they reaffirmed their love for one another.
