EastEnders has aired a beautiful scene between Josh Goodwin and his grandfather, Patrick Trueman, following an emotional confession.
Viewers know that Josh was introduced to the soap as the son of Anthony Trueman and Zoe Slater, along with his twin sister Jasmine Fisher.
Last week, Josh began a romance with Oscar Branning, who was unaware that Josh is the twin brother of his ex-girlfriend Jasmine, who is currently in prison following a fatal attack on her father, Anthony.

After a video from Jasmine’s missing phone revealed that Anthony attacked her and she acted in self-defence, Oscar and Josh discovered each other’s true identities.
Oscar visited Jasmine in prison, where they kissed and agreed to start over, but he lied about his involvement with Josh. He later told Josh he was giving things a go with Jasmine despite lingering feelings between them.

In tonight’s episode, Josh felt overwhelmed by Zoe’s attempts to connect, so he distanced himself from her to spend some time with Patrick.
Later, Josh explained that he was feeling nervous about telling Patrick that he is gay, but Denise encouraged him to be honest.
After Josh explained that his mum’s brother, his Uncle Ted, had subjected him to homophobic jokes, Denise said Patrick wasn’t like that.

“It’s 2026, darling, and Patrick has lived in London since he was near enough your age. He’s your family now, so you trust him. ‘Cause I do. We all do,” she said before offering Josh a job as a new trainee at the salon.
Denise went to speak with Patrick, who said he already knew that Josh was gay. However, Denise urged him to let Josh share the news himself, explaining that Josh had “bad experiences” coming out in the past.
In a touching moment, Josh told his grandfather he was gay, saying: “I don’t like rum. I don’t like cricket, and I don’t even know where Trinidad is. And I’m gay.”
When Josh said he liked music and dancing, the pair bonded, and Patrick said: “Love is love, Josh. Whoever you fall in love with. So how about a drink then?”
