Coronation Street‘s Kit Green struggles to keep his composure at work next week amid his personal connection to an ongoing criminal case.
The Weatherfield police force have a distressing incident to investigate over the coming days, after David Platt and Daisy Midgeley were both knocked over by a speeding car outside the Rovers Return.
Viewers know that David engineered the incident by asking dodgy Andy Garland to run him down in the road.
Tragically, David organised the hit on his life as he saw no way out of his current financial and family problems. However, he had no idea that pregnant Daisy would be caught in the crossfire.
Wednesday’s episode ended with David still facing an uncertain fate after being rushed to hospital.
Meanwhile, Daisy also received emergency treatment and it was revealed that she may have lost her baby due to the severity of her injuries.
While the full consequences of the crash are being kept secret until Friday’s episode, fans can expect some heated scenes in the ongoing aftermath next week.
Accusations are thrown around in the wake of the crash, as some of the Weatherfield residents start to turn on each other.
At the police station, DS Lisa Swain informs Kit that Andy has been arrested over the incident.
Lisa explains that Andy is claiming the crash was a drunken accident.
Kit, who recently discovered that he’s the father of Daisy’s baby, struggles to contain his anger as he hears Andy’s claims. Will he get to the truth about what happened?
Julia Goulding, who plays David’s wife Shona, recently spoke to Digital Spy and other press about filming the dramatic crash scenes.
She explained: “There was a lot of blood. Jack [P Shepherd, who plays David] was on the floor for a couple of days, and we were both covered in this sticky, glucosey, syrupy blood.
“I think we wore quite dark clothing as well so it doesn’t upset compliance. But it was really cool to film.
“We have a fantastic gang on set – all the actors and the crew – so you just get on with it and you have a laugh. Obviously you’re switching from really serious stuff and then when the cameras aren’t rolling, you’re absolutely side-splitting laughing.
“You have to really, when you have really shocking and serious scenes to film. But we had a great few days.”
Coronation Street airs these scenes on Monday, March 10 and Wednesday, March 12 on ITV1 and ITVX.
