Coronation Street is lining up an emotional reunion for sisters Julie Carp and Eileen Grimshaw – but what is the former hiding?

Julie is set to return to the cobbles this week as Todd comes face-to-face with his aunt at a singles’ event at Debbie Webster’s hotel.

In new follow-on scenes airing next Monday and Wednesday (February 24 and 26), Todd – having spent the night with a man he met at the tea dance – runs into Julie again at the reception.

At the Grimshaw household, Eileen convinces Julie to join her for lunch. However, later on in the week Todd and George Shuttleworth urge Julie to reveal to her sister the real reason for her return to Weatherfield.

Will Julie listen, and what secret is she hiding from Eileen?

While viewers are yet to learn the truth, we do know that Julie’s return will lead to the departure of Eileen, with actor Sue Cleaver set to exit the soap after 25 years in the role.

Teasing Julie’s role, Corrie producer Kate Brooks previously said: “As the ever lovable Julie breezes back into the lives of the Grimshaws, not everything is quite as it seems, and Julie’s secret sets off a chain of events that has huge ramifications for Eileen.

“Katy [Cavanagh] has slipped back into Julie’s shoes with such ease that it’s like she’s never been away, and we can’t wait for the audience to watch Julie’s story unfold; a story full of love, laughter and tears,” she added.
