Emmerdale has revealed what’s next for Mackenzie Boyd after his surprise return from the dead.

The drama continues in John Sugden’s dark storyline next week, as he realises that Mackenzie still poses a worrying threat to his future with husband Aaron Dingle.

The ITV soap has just revealed that John is holding Mackenzie captive in an underground bunker after their high-stakes showdown in the woods.

Viewers had been led to believe that Mack was dead, but he’s actually been spared by Mack… at least for now. Hit play below for a sneak peek at a new scene from Monday’s episode (1 September).

The clip above shows Mackenzie become disorientated and upset as he awakens in the bunker and experiences flashbacks of his near-death experience.

Giving a rather vague version of events, John says: “[You’re] somewhere safe. I’m trying to help you. You nearly died.”

Mack replies: “No, no, no – you tried to kill me. Just like you killed Nate…”

John’s mood immediately darkens – maybe Mack should have just kept quiet…

Meanwhile, a second spoiler clip from Wednesday’s episode (3 September) sees Robert Sugden’s suspicions over his villainous brother resurface.

Robert scoffs at John’s plans to move into his old childhood home with Aaron, finding it weird that he’d want to live in the past.

He also points out the eerie similarities between Mack and Nate’s disappearances. Is it only a matter of time before Robert puts all of the puzzle pieces together? He’s certainly getting very close…
