Cole slams his fist on the table. “Victor has to pay for what he’s done. He needs to be stopped once and for all.”
Michael frowns, sensing the dangerous edge in Cole’s tone. “What are you suggesting?”
“He has to die, Michael. It’s the only way. He’s a cancer, and we need to cut him out before he destroys more lives.”
Michael recoils at the idea. Despite everything, he can’t fathom committing murder. “Cole, that’s insane. Victor’s done terrible things, but killing him isn’t the answer.”
“It’s the only answer,” Cole insists, his eyes burning with fierce resolve.
Their argument is cut short by an unexpected opportunity: Victor is at his office alone. Without another word, they leave Michael’s apartment, set on forcing Victor to face the consequences of his actions.
At Newman Enterprises, the atmosphere is thick with anticipation. They storm into Victor’s office, finding him alone and caught off guard. The look of surprise on Victor’s face quickly turns to smug defiance.
“What are you two doing here?” Victor demands, his voice dripping with disdain.
“We’re here to make you understand the damage you’ve caused,” Cole spits, stepping closer to Victor’s desk.
Michael stays back, his mind racing with doubts. He doesn’t want things to escalate, but Cole is beyond reasoning. The confrontation quickly heats up, with accusations and threats flying across the room. Victor, ever the master manipulator, responds with his usual arrogance, belittling their grievances and dismissing their threats.
The confrontation reaches its peak when Victor suddenly clutches his chest, his face contorted in pain. He collapses to the floor, gasping for breath. Michael’s instincts kick in, and he moves to call 911, but Cole grabs his arm, stopping him.
“Let him die, Michael. This is our chance. No one will ever know,” Cole urges, his voice cold and unfeeling.

Michael’s mind is a whirlwind of conflicting emotions as they leave the building. The reality of what they’ve done, or failed to do, settles in—they have left a man to die. No matter how justified their anger, it feels wrong.
Hours pass like years as Michael wrestles with his conscience. He can’t shake the image of Victor lying helpless on the floor. Eventually, his guilt becomes too much to bear. Without telling Cole, he returns to Newman Enterprises.
When Michael arrives, he finds Victor’s office dark and empty. Panic surges through him. Has Victor died? Is he too late? He searches frantically and then sees paramedics wheeling Victor out on a stretcher. A cleaning staff member had found Victor and called for help.
Michael’s relief is palpable, but so is his dread. Victor is alive, but barely. The paramedics inform Michael that Victor has suffered a severe heart attack and is in critical condition.
