BREAKING: Kelly Reilly Won’t Play Beth Dutton In Future
Taylor Sheridan’s 2018 neo-Western show Yellowstone has truly proven to be one of the most popular television series of the modern era.
Continuing its momentum built over the years, the show featured familiar faces like Kevin Costner, Kelly Reilly, Luke Grimes, and more.
However, according to recent reports, it has been stated that the original cast of the show appears to be frustrated with their roles. It seems that after Kevin Costner made headlines for leaving Yellowstone, even Kelly Reilly admitted that she won’t be playing similar roles in the future.
Kevin Costner Made Headlines for Exiting Yellowstone
The lead actor of the 2018 show, Kevin Costner made headlines after rumors and speculations suggested that the actor is planning on leaving the show. Playing the lead role of John Dutton in Taylor Sheridan’s neo-Western juggernaut, Costner undoubtedly mesmerized the audiences. Which thus made fans wonder more, as to why the actor was leaving Yellowstone.
Earlier in 2023, rumors began swirling that the actor would be leaving the show. The speculations therefore concerned fans and they began wondering if Costner would return for the final few episodes or not. Amid constant confusion, fans of Yellowstone also wondered about the reason why Kevin Costner planned to leave the show at all.
It was believed that the actor was wrapped up in the production of his movie Horizon: An American Saga. Further, speculation also pointed to an alleged feud between the actor and Taylor Sheridan. But eventually, after Costner broke his silence and issued a statement confirming his exit via Men’s Health, he blamed scheduling conflicts for his departure.
Kelly Reilly Vows Not to Play Similar Roles in Future
According to recent reports, after Kelly Reilly appeared for an interview with Looper, the actress discussed her role and later vowed not to play a similar role in the future. Willing to avoid getting typecast in Hollywood, Reilly expressed her gratitude for the opportunity.
“She’s so brilliantly written. There’s not a line that she says that I don’t love…I love her so much. I’ve been playing her now for four years. She’s become one of the dearest characters I’ve ever played.”
Playing the role of Beth Dutton, the highly intelligent, fiercely ambitious daughter of John Dutton (Kevin Costner), Kelly Reilly brilliantly brought the character to life. But while Reilly highly appreciates the opportunity and mentioned adoring her character, she promised to never play similar roles.
“Obviously, I play Beth, and people like it. So, I’m inundated with very feisty, strong, violent-type women. I don’t want to play that again, those badly written Beths. So, I stay away from them and instead am looking for the next role that takes me into different waters.”
The onscreen father-daughter duo seems to have some issues with the show and their characters. After Kevin Costner’s exit made headlines, Kelly Reilly stunned her fans by revealing why she never wants to play a role similar to Beth Dutton ever again.
