EASTENDERS star Danielle Harold has revealed she’s returning to acting – three years after her character was tragically killed off.
The actress, who played Lola Pearce on the BBC soap, has not appeared on our screens since she was axed in 2023.
But now Danielle, 33, has shared that she’s eyeing up a string of new roles and has been busy auditioning the last few months.
The TV star exclusively told The Sun: “I took a little minute after I left EastEnders. I did the jungle, which was so much fun as well.
“I just took a little break because the storyline was so heavy and, obviously, I’ve played that character for such a long time.
“So, I’m just kind of getting back to auditions, which is really exciting.”

Speaking on behalf of WhichBingo, she continued: “I feel like everything’s changed, the whole industry’s changed, so it’s crazy.
“I’ve always said I’d love to do a series, where you get the whole story in one.
“Because obviously when you film EastEnders, you never know where the story’s going, so I’d love to do something like that.
“And I’d also love to do a documentary, actually, something a bit different I’d love to do.”
But Danielle admitted that she has no desire to land a role in a rival soap.
Speaking about a possible soap return, she said: It’s not that [I’m too loyal to EastEnders]. It’s just more, it’s so hard work.
“Soap is… actors in soap, oh my gosh, take my hat off.
“Like, it’s such a hard job. And, yeah, I like the freedom a little bit of being able to move from job to job.”
This would be the first acting role that Danielle has done since leaving EastEnders.
She has appeared in reality shows since her exit, including I’m A Celebrity in 2023 and Celebrity Hunted in 2025, however, there are no other shows in that vein currently on her bucket list.
Danielle first appeared on EastEnders between 2011 and 2015, and again from 2019 to 2023.
Viewers were left emotional when cancer-stricken Lola said her final goodbye.
Danielle opened up to The Sun at the time about the lasting impact Lola’s storyline had on her.
She said: “It’s hard to let go and shut off after filming. It’s really intense and sad.
“It makes you realise how grateful you are to be healthy and to appreciate life even more.

“I’ve had so many messages from people saying that they’ve only gone to get checked out because of Lola’s storyline and they’ve caught the tumour early.”
Danielle went on to win a prestigious National Television Award for the hard-hitting storyline.
