EastEnders has revealed the aftermath of Stacey Slater and Martin Fowler’s kiss next week.
Ruby Allen recently discovered that Martin had a secret plan to get custody of Roman, so she banned
him from seeing their son in the hospital.
This week, as the pair begun to make amends, Ruby explained that the latest round of steroids hadn’t worked on Roman and he would therefore need a liver transplant.
Martin and Ruby were told that they had found a donor and the surgery would take place the following day, but in next week’s episodes they get the devastating news that the donor liver isn’t viable.
The doctors confirm that Martin is a match and could be Roman’s best hope, and Ruby is shocked and relieved when he immediately agrees to the transplant.
But back at home, Lily is upset when she finds out that her dad is about to undergo surgery and is scared what will happen if something goes wrong.
Martin speaks to Stacey about his fears during a heart-to-heart, and after the pair share an emotional moment, he tries to kiss her.
Afterwards, Stacey and Martin are both confused about their kiss and what it means. Zack tells Martin that he needs to concentrate on Roman and Ruby and can’t get distracted.
Meanwhile, Stacey confides in Jean about the situation, who tells her that she needs to decide how she really feels about Martin.
Jean encourages Stacey to go and see Martin in the hospital ahead of his surgery, before it’s too late. What will she decide to do?
Things are set to get even more complicated over the festive season between the three characters when Stacey finds out that Martin and Ruby are now living together, though he insists there is nothing going on between them.
Martin then makes a big decision about Ruby towards the end of the year. Zack wants to organise a big New Year’s Eve night out, but he decides to spend the evening with Ruby and Roman, and she is thrilled when he arrives at the hospital.
Is there a future for Stacey and Martin, or is he growing closer to Ruby again?
