EastEnders’ Vicki Fowler starts to question Bernie Taylor next week, after noticing irregularities in the Panesars’ financial accounts.

It’s while Vicki is looking through the Panesar’s bank accounts that she notices some unusual invoices to Bernie. Has Bernie been stealing from her employers?

“Bernie might not seem like the type to steal, but she has every motive,” says our Walford insider. “Let’s not forget, she has a deep hatred for Suki that has been simmering for more than a year, and she feels owed by The Six.”

Despite raising the awkward issue to Bernie twice, Vicki comes up empty-handed when she’s sharply dismissed. At a loose end, Vicki confides in partner Ross, who suggests that she speak to Ravi directly if she’s so worried.

When Ravi and Suki team up to confront Bernie about the invoices, will there be a rational explanation? Or has she been stealing the family’s money in a twisted act of revenge?

Also next week, loved-up Felix begs Bernie to give his new boyfriend Johnny the Taylor stamp of approval, utterly unaware that Johnny helped to cover up Keanu’s murder. This sparks new fears for Denise that Bernie could reveal The Six’s criminal secret…

“Bernie decided to spare The Six from prison, but she could change her mind,” our source says. “Felix is the only family she has left in Walford, so his new relationship with Johnny could be the thing that tips her over the edge to dob them in.”

Do The Six have reason to be worried? Or does Bernie feel that fiddling the Panesar finances is enough compensation for what she’s been through?

It was announced last month that Clair Norris, who plays Bernie, will be leaving the BBC soap later this year, after eight years on the show.

Clair has confirmed that she has already filmed her character’s exit, so will this new story be how Bernie ultimately leaves Albert Square?
