Days of Our Lives’ Jackee Harry enjoys having Paulina go up against EJ, feeling it to be empowering.

The district attorney position has been a revolving door on Days of Our Lives. Once again, Mayor Paulina kicked EJ out and, this time, replaced him with Belle. EJ’s not going to go down quietly, and once he deals with this Arnold/Rafe mess he’s got going on, he’ll probably set his sights on Paulina. This isn’t the first time she’s gone toe-to-toe with the ruthless DiMera, and she opened up about how she thought their first encounter would go down.

He’s a Formidable Opponent

Harry recently spoke to Soap Opera Digest and discussed Paulina’s beef with EJ (Daniel Feuerriegel). “Of course, he’s powerful, and we know he’s manipulative, but he’s also savvy, and he’s a DiMera,” she said of Paulina’s opponent. But, at the end of the day, the good mayor knows she has to deal with all sorts of people and personalities, even someone like EJ, whom she described as “repulsive.”

“EJ is formidable,” she remarked. “The whole DiMera family is.” Harry recalled the first time Paulina and EJ faced off, and she was worried she would be killed off. “I know I’m going to lose. They’re going to find me dead,” she worried. But the staff at DAYS merely laughed at her fears. Instead, she found herself up for the challenge of taking on such a powerful man.

She Feels Powerful

Harry noted that Paulina’s got Jada (Elia Cantu) in her corner, and the two would be able to combine their wits and strengths to stop anything EJ throws at them. Harry felt the connection between the two. Ultimately, Paulina and Jada’s dynamic is powerful. “I got your back. It will be two of us, maybe three of us [against EJ].” The third person she referenced is most likely Belle (Martha Madison).

Harry loves how Feuerriegel plays EJ, remarking that she enjoys butting heads with him. “He plays EJ with leverage. That’s something he’s good at. It made me feel powerful to go up against a powerful man,” she explained. Harry also remarked that she would be open to playing a villain one day, like Cruella DeVil or Alan Rickman’s character Hans Gruber from the classic film Die Hard. But for now, she thoroughly enjoys Paulina and EJ’s continual conflict.
