Poor Chanel. All she wants on Days of our Lives is a baby. She didn’t know she wanted one. Until she accidentally got pregnant. And then she really wanted one. She even named it Noel/Noelle. But then Chanel lost the baby and was, understandably, devastated.
Never Surrender
She and Johnny (Carson Boatman) wanted to try again, but then a health problem made it inadvisable. They tried to adopt Sophia (Rachel Boyd) and Tate’s (Leo Howard) unborn child, but then Johnny decided he wasn’t really to be a father and kiboshed the process.
Chanel (Raven Bowens) left him. Then she came back to him. She went to the hospital for a check-up, hoping Sarah (Linsey Godfrey) would tell her it was safe to get pregnant again.
Um… isn’t Johnny still against the whole fatherhood thing? They’d discussed it just that morning. So even if Sarah had given Chanel the go-ahead, Johnny would still be an obstacle.
Scar Tissue
But, as it turned out, Sarah told Chanel she’d have to wait. Chanel lamented her sadness to Paulina (Jackée Harry).
But we’re confused as to why Chanel isn’t going for the obvious solution: She can’t get pregnant, she can’t adopt, and her husband is being a big manbaby about it. So why not hire a surrogate? Chanel can use her own eggs, but get another woman to carry the infant.
If Johnny wants to contribute, great. If not, there are entire banks out there that let you pick your child’s sperm donor.
All Mine
Chanel can have a baby all on her own. She’s rich. She has family support. She can be a single mom if that’s what she wants.
And Johnny can go on navel-gazing. The loss is his. Then, once he decides he’s ready to be a dad, Chanel can decide if she even wants him in her life anymore. Or if she can do better.
