Emmerdale‘s Steph Miligan faces a desperate plea from her parents next week as she secretly plans to undergo cosmetic surgery.

Caleb and Ruby are shocked when they learn that Steph is hoping to have her nose reshaped following the recent revelations over her biological father.

Next week’s episodes see Steph attend an initial appointment with her surgeon as she attempts to finalise her plans.

She undergoes a psychological assessment regarding her reasons for the surgery, but decides not to tell the truth about how she’s trying to erase her resemblance to evil Anthony Fox.

Georgia Jay, who plays Steph, tells us: “Steph becomes a little bit obsessed with wanting to change her image. She’s particularly focused on her nose.

“She wants to have a nose job and a brow lift – these are the two things that she’s focused on at the moment.”

Once back at home, Steph tries to cover her plans by telling Caleb and Ruby that she’ll be going on holiday for a while.

The next day, Caleb is baffled when he tries to trace the flight number that Steph gave to him and realises that it doesn’t exist.

Caleb and Ruby panic and search Steph’s computer for clues to her real whereabouts.

They uncover the emails from the clinic and rush to stop Steph, just as the surgeon is making the final preparations for her procedure to begin.

“Steph is literally just about to go under the knife when they turn up,” Georgia continues. “Caleb and Ruby interrupt and stop the surgery from going ahead.

“Steph doesn’t react well at all – she’s a young woman, she’s not a child. She has liberty to make her own choices and it frustrates her that they are trying to take control of this choice, which she feels is fully hers.

“I think it actually does more damage than we would think, in the sense that it takes her down an avenue that gets her plotting to perhaps self-harm herself.”
