Sister Wives’ Madison Brush EXPOSES Kody Brown’s Financial Troubles!
Madison Brush is shedding light on the financial struggles within the Sister Wives family, revealing shocking details about her father, Kody Brown’s, money habits. The 29-year-old daughter of Kody and his ex-wife Janelle Brown recently opened up about her upbringing and how money—or the lack of it—shaped their lives before Sister Wives became a hit reality show.
During the December 9 episode of the Authentic Society podcast, Madison was asked whether she grew up poor before Sister Wives premiered in 2010. Her response was eye-opening: “Yes, before the show, we were very poor. My dad made decent money, but with 15 kids, it was never enough.” She explained that while Kody might have been financially stable with a smaller family, supporting multiple wives and a large number of children made things incredibly difficult.
Madison then made a startling admission—Kody often fell for “get-rich-quick” schemes. “Almost always,” she revealed, suggesting that rather than building long-term stability, he was constantly chasing risky financial opportunities that rarely paid off. This approach was vastly different from her husband Caleb Brush’s family, who prioritized saving and financial security. Madison admitted that when she first discussed some of Kody’s financial habits with Caleb, he was shocked, unable to understand why her family operated that way.
She also shared that Kody, who is still married to his fourth wife, Robyn Brown, and currently stars in Sister Wives Season 19, worked as a salesman before their reality TV fame. However, his spending habits were troubling. Madison recalled that whenever tax returns came in during her childhood, Kody and her mothers would immediately spend the money rather than saving it.
In contrast, Caleb’s family had a vastly different approach to finances. They were “debt phobic” and made sure to save every penny possible, something that Madison only came to appreciate later in life.
But Madison’s revelations didn’t stop at finances. She also addressed her estranged relationship with Kody, admitting that she has chosen to go “no contact” with him. She revealed that one of the reasons she cut ties was because Kody struggles with boundaries and doesn’t like being confronted with reality.
“I’m a straight shooter,” she explained, “and he didn’t like having a mirror held up to him.”
Madison’s candid interview is yet another glimpse into the growing fractures within the Brown family. With Christine, Janelle, and Meri all leaving Kody in the past four years, his relationship with his children appears to be crumbling as well. As Sister Wives Season 19 continues, fans are left wondering—will Kody ever take accountability for his actions, or will he continue down the same self-destructive path?
