TLC’s paycheck changed the lives of the Browns by giving them Sister Wives. But it seems that the money didn’t stretch as far as fans thought. Christine Woolley’s daughter, Gwendlyn, recently dropped a bombshell by claiming that it was her mother who paid her and not the network. Yes, you read that right.
Gwen reflected on the early days of her filming life and exposed the show. She talked about the actual dynamics and made some shocking confessions. Is this true? What is this all about? Did TLC not pay the Brown kids? Keep on reading to learn more about what Gwen has to reveal.

Sister Wives Was A Blessing For The Browns’ Financial Condition
Gwendlyn recently reflected on how herfamily’s financial condition changed after they got Sister Wives. She noted, “We just got thrown into fame and thrown into money.” The star kid admitted that her life became really easier after TLC’s money began flowing into her family. Gwen explained how she stopped needing and wanting things, and it was a “blessing.”
She stated, “Life is a lot easier for a kid that’s not going hungry.” Gwen admitted that during the initial days, she was “super into” the show because of its financial aspect. This is because the Browns were actually in “a poverty situation” before the show was offered to them. But Gwen’s view has changed now, and it appears that she is no longer interested in the thing that was a blessing for her.
Sister Wives: Gwen Claims TLC Didn’t Pay The Brown Kids
The Sister Wives show has been a huge success, and it surely changed the lives of the Browns. But it appears that TLC’s money didn’t directly come to the kids. Gwen recently told Teen Vogue that the network only paid the show’s “parents” and not the children. She wondered whether the franchise “did or didn’t expect” the adults to pay the kids, but the truth is, they weren’t compensated during their initial years.

However, it was Christine who decided to pay her children. She fixed a “certain amount per day or half-day of camera time” that she would give her children from the savings. This is how the Brown kids began getting funds from their appearances on the show. Gwen further claimed that she wasn’t aware of the total amount that she and her siblings got from the show.
However, Gwen was sure about one thing: “It certainly hasn’t been a fair share.” This could be the reason she isn’t really into filming like the way she used to be. The star kid earlier accepted that filming was a “normal” part of her life. But now she no longer likes it that way and believes that it’s a bit “weird.”
Moreover, someone from TLC told the noted source that “compensation” is usually handled according to contractual commitments, which are applicable labor laws and regulations. Hence, the show used to pay the parents of the Brown families and not the kids. What do you think about this? Do let us know in the comments section.
