Still totally unaware of Charity’s one night stand with Ross, Jacob surprises her and fiancée Sarah with an early ultrasound appointment so they can all see the baby for the first time.

“She’s having to hide all of this stuff and put on these fake smiles. There is an element of feeling empowered that she is able to carry this child for Sarah, and now she’s being met with the dilemma that it might possibly not be Sarah’s baby.
“There’s that real heartache of, ‘What if she found out?’ Charity can’t function because she’s so full of emotions for so many different reasons. There’s so many layers at play and she’s just in total turmoil.”
Later, Ross turns up with Moses by his side, which inspires Sarah to show him the photo from the scan. And even though Ross might be known for his hard-as-nails attitude, it’s clear that he feels put out by the fact he could be looking at his own unborn child.
Will Sarah notice Ross’s flicker of emotion – or will the dad-of-one manage to keep his true feelings under wraps?
“Charity can’t bear the idea of Sarah ever, ever finding out,” explains Emma. “It’s such an ultimate betrayal to take it this far and lie.
“Charity is digging a hole that is so big now that that there’s no going back, and she’s determined to just keep the lie up and assume that she’s none-the-wiser and it is in fact Sarah’s baby. She’s decided to jump in at the deep end and keep putting on the brave face…”
As Charity and Ross grapple with their awful moral dilemma, will one of them finally break and reveal that Sarah and Jacob might not have a biological baby on the way after all? Or will the ex-lovers keep their lips sealed for the sake of the young couple?
