Coronation Street brings in a new character who’s sure to shake things up tonight – Theo Silverton’s secret wife.

Former Emmerdale and Hollyoaks star Natalie Anderson has been cast in the role of Danielle, who’s been married to Theo for 19 years.

Danielle makes her first appearance just when it seems like things are going well between Theo and his new love interest Todd Grimshaw again.

As Todd laments the latest rejection he’s received from Theo, he’s relieved when the hunky scaffolder returns to the cobbles to apologise.

Todd invites Theo back to the Grimshaw house for another hook-up, then returns to work at the funeral parlour on cloud nine.

It’s this moment where everything changes for Todd’s new romance, as Danielle turns up to arrange her mum’s funeral.

Danielle is quickly followed by her husband, who wants to support his wife through the emotional conversation with the funeral directors.

Todd is gobsmacked when the man in question turns out to be Theo.

Finally, this explains why Theo has seemed so hesitant about his fling with Todd, after days of sneaking around and trying to avoid being seen by anyone. While Theo has always known that he’s gay, he’s never felt able to openly be in a relationship with another man.

Later, Todd confides in his ex-partner Billy Mayhew about his new dilemma.

Billy is quick to point out the various red flags – including Theo betraying his wife when she’s grieving – and advises Todd to steer well clear. But with Todd still charmed by Theo, will he listen?
