The mischievous Betsy, portrayed by Sydney Martin, arrived on the scene last year as DS Lisa Swain’s (acted by Vicky Myers) daughter.
Betsy grew up with two mums, Lisa and her partner Becky. Tragically, Becky was killed in action in late 2021, after a car crash while on duty. Betsy hasn’t wasted any time getting caught up in major plotlines since landing in Weatherfield.
Early this year, she dealt a devastating blow when her beau Mason Radcliffe (played by Luca Toolan) was shockingly murdered, stabbed by brothers Logan (Harry Lowbridge) and Matty (Seamus McGoff), reportsΒ Leicestershire Live.
As if coping with Mason’s death wasn’t enough, disaster struck when Betsy was gunned down in March by the menacing Rob Donovan (Marc Bayliss), amidst a hostage situation involving her mum Lisa and Carla Connor (Alison King).
Miraculously battling through serious injuries, leaving her without sensation in one arm, Betsy has recovered surprisingly quickly.
But now, Corrie watchers are buzzing with anticipation over a potential huge reveal concerning Betsy’s real dad β and they reckon he’s from the same neighbourhood.
Speculating on a Corrie Facebook group, a fan posited: “I think Becky had an affair that resulted in Betsy’s conception? And that’s why in interviews Vicky has said that Carla is Lisa’s love of her life and soul mate etc. Anyone else think the same?”.

A third chimed in with a theory about Betsy’s paternity, hinting at the possibility of thug and killer Mick Michaelis (Joe Layton) being her real father.
