John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) made an admission to Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) in tonight’s episode of Emmerdale that left us curious.
The mysterious character was on hand to help Aaron earlier this year, when he thought he had killed Anthony Fox.
As a former member of the army, John argued that he could deal with death a lot better than Aaron, and set about disposing of Anthony’s body.
He was then put under the spotlight when the other people who knew about Anthony’s murder started to wonder where his body was buried.
Not wanting to break the trust, John took the group to the woods and confirmed the location of Anthony’s grave.
More recently, John jumped at the chance to help Chas (Lucy Pargeter), who had been knocked unconscious after getting spiked. His behaviour surrounding Anthony’s death and Chas’ drugging was cool, calm, and collected – but is this all a façade?
In tonight’s episode, John admitted to Aaron that he’s struggling to sleep at the moment and happily accepted his offer of a stronger coffee.
It comes just a few days after he told Steph (Georgia Jay) that he’s an overthinker, and finds deep breathing helps to clear his mind.

Aaron pointed out to his partner that he’s had a lot going on, but is it more than he realises?
Fans of the ITV soap are continuing to grow suspicious about John, with one theory circulating that he was involved in Nate’s (Jurell Carter) ‘death’.
