Anna Knight (Molly Rainford) was left reeling in EastEnders when she discovered Gina Knight’s (Francesca Henry) whereabouts on the night of Cindy Beale’s (Michelle Collins) attack.
Cindy was whacked over the head with a shovel on Christmas Day and left for dead in the Square, though the identity of her attacker has remained a mystery.
This week, the Knight family were left horrified when George Knight (Colin Salmon) found the attempted murder weapon hidden in the barrel store.
In tonight’s episode, Gina was frustrated that she had been the first person George had pointed the finger at, and Anna struggled to understand why George hadn’t yet got rid of the shovel.
When Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe) asked Anna if she knew who Gina was with on the night of Cindy’s attack, she was taken aback, admitting that she didn’t know she’d been with anyone.

She later confronted Gina, asking where she was that night, admitting that she thought she may have attacked Cindy.
Gina was instantly defensive and insisted that she had told George and Elaine that she was with someone because it had been the truth, and that she hadn’t told Anna because it was ‘none of her business’.
Anna grew even more suspicious when George revealed that he had hidden the weapon, making her think that he truly believed one of the Knights was responsible for Cindy’s attack.
Keen to get some answers, when Gina snuck out of the Vic, Anna followed, and was shocked when she overheard a conversation between her sister and Harry Mitchell (Elijah Holloway).
She overheard Harry insisting that he hadn’t told anyone anything, but that Gina didn’t have to believe him, as she knew he loved the danger.
Was Gina with Harry when Cindy was attacked, or did he witness her hit Cindy?
Could Gina be the culprit after all?
