Debbie Webster is set to keep a secret in Coronation Street as Jack sparks trouble at school.
This week the soap began a devastating storyline in which Debbie, who has started to forget key bits of information, will be diagnosed with dementia.
As reported last year, the fan-favourite character’s diagnosis will lead to Debbie’s eventual exit from the cobbles.
In scenes that will air on Wednesday, March 26, Debbie receives a call from the school informing her that Jack was involved in a fight.

After receiving the call, Debbie is informed that Jack has now been suspended from school as a punishment for his actions. Debbie manages to persuade Mrs Crawshaw to revoke his suspension, telling Jack not to mention it to his dad Kevin.

Meanwhile, Debbie has already begun to show signs of memory loss as part of her dementia storyline. In Friday’s (March 14) episode, Debbie witnessed Tracy McDonald buying drugs from a dodgy man in the ginnel, only to forget all about it when later confronted by Tracy.

In last night’s episode, Debbie got a call from the hotel saying there had been an issue with the electrics so she signed up new villain Mick Michaelis to help.
After Mick told her she was sent an email informing her it was part of a planned outage, Debbie insisted she never got the email and refused to pay Mick.
Fans of the soap have called Debbie’s dementia storyline “devastating”, saying the new plot goes “too far”. Back in November, viewers launched a petition which asked ITV to “reconsider this story now, before work on this begins”.
