Former Coronation Street star Catherine Tyldesley has been approached to return to the cobbles “a couple of times” since she left in 2018.
The actor played Eva Price on the ITV soap between 2011 and 2018. She left with baby Susie amid Aidan’s tragic death storyline and hasn’t been seen in Weatherfield since.
Tyldesley — recently seen in The Good Ship Murder alongside Corrie‘s Shayne Ward who played Aidan — has recently revealed she’s been asked to go back but scheduling conflicts with her other projects made it difficult to do so.
“Coronation Street feels like forever ago, but I always look back with such great fondness,” she told Prima.
“They’ve asked me to go back a couple of times over the years, and it just so happened that I was busy with other projects,” she added.
Tyldesley then said she’d be open to reprise the role for the right storyline.
“But if they approached me with an amazing storyline and the time was right, of course, I’d go back. So it’s always a case of never say never.”
In 2021, Tyldesley said she’d been contacted to return for a sad storyline concerning Leanne Battersby, but her prior engagements made an Eva comeback unfeasible.
“There was a storyline last year where Leanne’s little boy Oliver got very poorly and unfortunately died, and it made total sense for Eva to come back because why wouldn’t she?” she told Digital Spy at the time.
“They reached out to me, and it was so unfortunate that I’d already signed to do Viewpoint and the dates, we just couldn’t make it work.”
