Coronation Street has revealed a first look at the upcoming deadly fire that is set to engulf the Platt residence.
In next week’s (February 3) episodes a huge blaze rips through the iconic Platt house, leading to catastrophic consequences for the whole family. A mysterious hooded figure will be seen pushing a petrol soaked rag through the letterbox of Number 8.
The fire will be revealed as arson, putting the street’s residents under the police spotlight. But will everyone make it out alive?
The storyline will kick off at the Bistro, as the family gather for Sarah’s birthday. However, it isn’t long before Hope, Ruby, Lily and Sam get bored and leave the party. They sneak into Number 8 and start to live stream a séance but Toyah notices matches on the video and races over to kick them out.
Furious Abi sees Toyah heading into the house and confronts her about calling social services. Caught up in a PTSD episode, she lashes out at Toyah, knocking her unconscious and fleeing. But does she return to cover up the attack?
Meanwhile, creeping round the cobbles is a drunken Leanne, feeling lonely and angry at the world. After starting a fire at Nick’s flat, is she considering even more revenge?
David is also a suspect for the arson, following his recent feud with gangster Harvey Gaskell. Could Harvey’s minions be responsible for the blaze or has David gone to extreme lengths to get the money from the house insurance to repay Harvey’s stolen cash?
As the Platts discover the fire destroying their home, they fear missing Toyah and the kids might be trapped inside. Nick, Shona and Max head into the inferno before a huge explosion rocks the street.
They desperately attempt to save their loved ones, while the street’s residents look on in shock. But whose reckless actions caused the horrific ordeal?
