Coronation Street‘s Bethany Platt and Daniel Osbourne are set to face a setback in their relationship following their recent reunion.
Bethany and Daniel reconciled last week in emotional scenes. The couple’s relationship had ended following Bethany’s hospitalisation in Turkey
Bethany was hospitalised in Turkey following a botched cosmetic procedure, which left her needing to wear a stoma bag for the rest of her life.
Worrying that Daniel wouldn’t be able to cope with her new health challenge, Bethany pushed him away once she was brought back to Weatherfield.
Despite their reconciliation, Bethany is set to continue to struggle with letting Daniel accept her new reality.
In scenes to air on Sunday, October 27, Bethany will be preparing breakfast for Daniel at the flat when he enters without knocking.
Daniel sees Bethany’s stoma bag for the first time, causing her to feel embarrassed and yell at him to get out.
Lucy Fallon, who plays Bethany in 2015, previously spoke about the importance of her character’s storyline.
“When I first heard about, it I was pleased that they have trusted me with it because it’s an important storyline, and of course, I really enjoy doing issue-based storylines,” she said.
“Obviously this is really hard-hitting, which is exciting from an actor’s point of view, but it does come with quite a lot of pressure and responsibility to get it right because this happens to real life people.
“The storyline is also incredibly important as there’s countless horror stories out there of people talking about their experiences of cosmetic surgery abroad. I really hope this storyline can make people rethink going abroad for cosmetic surgery.”
