The Actress Is No Longer On Contract!
Melissa Ordway who portrays Abby Abbott Newman on the daytime drama has shared some updates with her fans through a social media Q&A session. While talking to her fans she revealed that she is no longer on contract with Y&R and also confirmed that she will remain a part of the show.
The actress was flying from LAX to BNA when she engaged her fans in a Q&A session through an Instagram story. A major stand-out question from her fans during the session was “Why did she decide to cut her hair?”. To which Ordway replied, “Honestly, it’s been an interesting couple of months. The show decided to take me off contract, so I decided to change my look-up a bit for auditions”. The actress further mentioned that she would love to be back whenever they want her to be on the show. “Definitely not something I wanted but I love and respect my YR family and appreciate any time they ask me back.”, said Melissa.
To her response, fans even asked what off-contract really means. So, she explained that it means she has no guaranteed episodes and can work on other projects, but she will continue to play Abby on Y&R. She further explained that she is still part of the Y&R family and wants to continue being a part of the show. Melissa said, “Trust me, I hope I’m still there all the time! I think they’re just focusing on other characters and storylines. But I worked today and lots of fun stuff is coming up!”
Abby’s New Look!
In her fan talk session, the actress has also revealed that her new look will be soon released on the show when Abby and Devon get back from their honeymoon. The actress has gotten her hair shorter which looked dope to her fans when she shared her new look.
Melissa Ordway became part of Y&R in March 2021 and since then she has portrayed Abby Newman, the character that was earlier portrayed by Emme Rylan. The actress has earned her first nomination in the Daytime Emmy Award for the Best Supporting Actress in Drama category for Abby’s role. So indeed, it is a fan-favorite character!
