It seems that viewers won’t have to wait long for Sister Wives season 19. The polygamous family-based
show has always been very entertaining. However, Sister Wives season 18 was probably the wildest one
yet. Over the second half of 2023, fans watched the Brown family break apart as Janelle Brown
contemplated her relationship with Kody Brown. At the same time, Meri Brown decided to move to Utah, and tangled with Kody over getting her fair share of the family’s Coyote Pass land. When three sister wives fled, Kody Brown and Robyn Brown embraced their new monogamous lifestyles.
Sister Wives Tell All episodes will probably be the most shocking parts of season 19. During the first part of the one-on-one, Kody revealed that he’d never had romantic feelings for Meri, Janelle, and Christine Brown. Robyn claimed that she was devastated when she discovered her husband’s true feelings about his first three wives – she said she felt betrayed. She wasn’t emotionally prepared for his bombshell reveal. The Sister Wives’ season 18 finale made it seem like the show would end, as the Brown family was falling apart. However, some details hint that the series will continue.

Sister Wives Season 19 Latest News
New Details About The Show’s Stars Have Been Revealed
Sister Wives season 19 hasn’t been officially announced. However, reports suggest the show will return in 2024. The installment’s relatively high overall rating is one reason why its return is probable. Most Sister Wives season 18 episodes were rated nearly 8 out of 10 stars, as per iMDB, hinting that the series is still very popular. The season 18 premiere drew almost 4 million viewers. In November 2023, Christine Brown confirmed Sister Wives season 19. According to ET Online, Meri shared that more of the Brown family story is left to tell. She teased that the tale would be told:
“next season”
Since Christine is in-the-know, it’s a pretty safe bet that a new season’s on the horizon. However, there’s no confirmation yet. Right now, she’s one of the happier Sister Wives cast members. She may be excited about an upcoming installment of the show. However, due to Garrison Brown’s death on March 5, 2024, season 19 will be intense. Kody and Janelle loved their son, who reportedly had issues with alcohol (and lived with depression) before his passing.
“The family is normally always filming – whether it’s actual cameras or on their phones. As sad as it is, his unexpected death came during the timeline of filming.”
If this is true, the season could be the most emotionally charged installment in Sister Wives history. While the Browns have had their problems, and lost loved ones, the loss of a Brown child is a terrible thing. As the family comes to terms with Garrison’s passing, they will also need to come to terms with each other.
On the show, Robyn and Kody are typically the “villains.” Robyn favored Kody and that hurt the family. However, now that Kody’s a grieving father, the emotional landscape has shifted. Everything is different.
Watching the family interact at such a painful time may be difficult. However, after 18 seasons, it’s safe to say that viewers are invested. While they may never consider Kody a hero, this tragedy could soften their opinions. On the other hand, there are Sister Wives fans who blame Kody for his son’s death. So, a probable Sister Wives season 19 could lead viewers to throw more shade at the patriarch and his only remaining wife. At Kody’s Instagram, one hater dragged the controversial reality star. They said:
Truly sad Garrison is gone you should have showed him more love instead of hate Kody.
Another went really low, taking Kody to task for… almost everything. It’s surprising that Kody doesn’t disable “fan” comments right now, as his critics are taking to posts he added before Garrison’s death and commenting on his parenting skills. There is very little love for Kody at Instagram, although this is admittedly nothing new. An angry detractor stated:
One thing is for sure. I’m not watching any show where all the family is gone and the only two remaining are Kody and Robin. Robin took him in isolation for months without demanding he spent time with the other wives. When she said she had nothing to do with that, how do you expect to have sister wives when you are the only one sharing his time. Even watching him abandon his other children didn’t bring her to question the situation and feel outraged at how he abandoned his other families. I think it is time to cancel the show. Maybe a show with the stories with the ex wives only and their current lives and goals will be more interesting.
With the comment above in mind, it’s possible that the show could lose viewers because there is so much negativity directed at Kody and Robyn. If only Kody and Robyn were filmed, producers might have cause to worry. However, as long as the ex-wives are in the mix, and children (some of them all grown-up) appear on the show, it will probably continue to do well. As the fan above suggested, a spin-off featuring the exes might be an option if the OG Sister Wives can’t sustain success following the divorces, and the loss of Garrison.
At the funeral, a fractured family gathered to pay their respects to a wonderful human being. Yes, Garrison had his problems, but he showed his goodness by rescuing a helpless animal. Shortly before his death, Garrison adopted a cat that was being housed in a kill shelter. If he didn’t save that feline, Ms. Buttons, it would likely be dead today. So, it’s important to remember that Garrison, although in many ways a tortured soul, was also a hero.
Garrison’s funeral was held on March 9, 2024, and his cousin Emma Brown posted a touching homage that referenced his memorial service, as seen above. She misses him like all the Browns do. However, there is something about a mother’s love, and perhaps Janelle misses Garrison the most of all. She tried to save his life before he passed away.
Concerned about a troubling text of his that appeared in a group chat (which she wasn’t a part of), Janelle reached out. However, Garrison stopped responding to her messages. Then, she sent her son Gabriel Brown to Garrison’s home. She wanted him to check on Garrison. Gabriel found his brother’s body. Both sons had feuded with Kody before Garrison died.
Nothing will ever be the same for the Browns – that is a certainty. Garrison will always be loved, and the clip above features some poignant moments between the late Brown son and his family. Since he is gone, the dynamic of “heroes” vs “villains,” which has driven so much of the onscreen action, is now cloudier. The changing dynamic may make for electrifying viewing, or it may signal that the series is in its dénoument. It could go either way.
