It’s a big week in EastEnders for Sonia Fowler (Natalie Cassidy) as new spoilers have been revealed, which include heartbreaking Bianca Jackson (Patsy Palmer) updates.
As she prepares to take the stand, Sonia is gutted that Bianca is nowhere to be seen – and killer Reiss Colwell (Jonny Freeman) is also notable by his absence.
As Sonia issues a plea to her husband, what is he up to? And how much longer can he hold Bianca?
Elsewhere, there’s a revelation from Lauren Branning (Jacqueline Jossa) over the violent attack on Cindy Beale (Michelle Collin) which creates real ructions.
And as Cindy returns to the Square, the drama is far from over…
Monday January 13
Cindy is now awake and wants answers about what’s happened to her. When Peter deflects her questions about the family, Cindy gets emotional.
Anna heads back to Walford to let George and the Knights know that Cindy is awake. At the hospital, DCI Arthurs interviews Cindy, who is horrified to learn that she was probably attacked by someone who knows her.
Later, Peter and Lauren arrive to visit Cindy, who is hostile towards Lauren. Later, the police arrive at The Vic and arrest Lauren for attempted murder.
Denise and Ravi continue to meet secretly but almost get caught by Chelsea and Kim, Later, Denise invites Jack and the Brannings to celebrate Raymond’s birthday and Nigel angles for Phil to go along too.
At the party, Ravi gets jealous of Jack and Phil clashes with Denise, who is furious with his selfish behaviour. Later, as Ravi and Denise steal another moment together, Nugget catches them kissing.
Reiss rejects Martin’s offer of getting a cab together to court for Sonia’s trial and heads to the prison to visit her.
Desperate Sonia begs Reiss to help her prove her innocence and tells him how important it is that Bianca is there to support her during the trial. But when she arrives at court, neither Reiss or Bianca are there.
Elsewhere, Teddy and Sharon head off on a spa break, leaving Nicola seething.
Tuesday January 14
At the station, Lauren is quizzed about the night of the attack in the light of Cindy’s recollections. Peter realises that Lauren has been arrested on the strength of Cindy’s statement and demands that she retracts it.
But Peter is shocked when she confides in him about what happened on Christmas Day.
Ravi takes control of keeping Nugget quiet, as Denise heads home in a panic that she’s about to lose her family over their secret affair.
Jack thinks she’s upset because of Phil’s antics and offers support, kicking off a new row between Denise and Phil.
Later, Ravi spots Denise and Jack having a warm moment and jealousy takes hold as he tells her that he won’t be anybody’s dirty little secret for long.
Elsewhere, Yolande provides Nigel with a shoulder to cry on and advises him to tell Phil what’s really going on with his health.
Wednesday January 15
The fallout of Lauren’s revelation drives a wedge between her and Peter, who heads to the hospital to see Cindy. When the doctors tell Cindy she’ll be released tomorrow, Peter promises to find her a place to stay.
After failing to get Ian to let Cindy stay at his place, Peter tricks a reluctant Reiss into giving his mum the spare room. Later, Peter’s woes get worse.
Martin goes to see Reiss, and tells him Sonia’s trial has been adjourned due to his actions.
Jack invites Denise for lunch but gets knocked back as she says they shouldn’t blur the lines of their friendship. Nicola is amused to have witnessed this exchange.
Denise goes to see Ravi and tells him that she’s not interested in Jack, but can’t go public for fear of losing Chelsea. Later, Jack is drowning his sorrows at Harry’s Barn when some men are inappropriate with Chelsea.
In a violent tussle, Jack gets punched before Nicola sends the men on their way, and invites him to get cleaned up in the office.
Elsewhere, Ruby encourages Martin to seek answers from the council about the plans for Bridge St. Market.
Later, he arrives at The Vic and reveals that he’s got tonight to put together the traders’ case to present to the council. Ruby isn’t happy when Stacey agrees to help Martin, leaving her sidelined.
Thursday January 16
Cindy arrives back in Albert Square and faces hostility from the people she’s wronged, especially Ian. At The Vic, George is on edge as Anna privately voices her fears to Gina.
Cindy struggles to adapt to sharing a house with Reiss. Meanwhile, Peter struggles as he tries to support both Lauren and Cindy.
Denise thanks hungover Jack for stepping into protect Chelsea and invites him for a drink later.
Elsewhere, Ruby isn’t happy to find Martin and Stacey chatting happily about the market project. Mr Lister arrives with news from the council.
