Coronation Street’s Shona Platt (Juila Goulding) has been hiding a big secret from husband David Platt (Jack P. Shepherd) after cheating on him with Kit Green (Jacob Roberts), but the truth

threatens to come spilling out next week – all thanks to someone very unexpected.

As fans know, Shona and Kit hooked up after she learned about how David had been intercepting messages from her son Clayton Hibbs (Callum Harrison) in prison, determined not to let Kylie

Platts’ (Paula Lane) killer back in their lives.

Shona insisted to Kit that, while she enjoyed their night together, it was a one-off – but she was later tempted by him after another row with David when he found the morning-after pill in her bag.

She headed to Kit’s room at the Chariot Square Hotel, but ultimately decided against sleeping with him again.

However, it emerges that Shona was spotted by another local during her late-night visit.

In scenes to air later this month, manager Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney) tries to interest Shona in her New Year’s Eve party at the hotel.

When Shona is dismissive, Debbie takes offence and points out she seemed quite at home in the hotel the other night.

As David overhears the end of the conversation, will she be forced to confess the truth?

Actor Jack P. Shepherd, who plays David, previously teased how David would react if he found out about Shona and Kit’s betrayal.

​​‘I think he’ll react in a way where he’ll have to try and get his own back somehow,’ he told Metro.  ‘And he’ll have to try and do it in a clever way.

‘With Kit being six foot taller than David, he won’t be able to take him on physically. It’ll have to be something sort of mentally.

‘He’ll do something to f*** his life up somehow. That’s what he’ll do.’
