SHOCKING NEWS!! PIG’S EAR EastEnders’ fan fury after character serves fry up that ‘looks like something you’d give a dog

EASTENDERS bosses look to have made a rash-er decision when it comes to the food served on set.

The BBC One soap appeared to be using veggie options of bacon and sausages for a scene that played out earlier this week.

Jack Branning actor Scott Maslan cooked a fry up for his estranged partner Denise, played by Diane Parish, in the opening of Monday night’s episode of the show.

But it wasn’t the ongoing rekindling of this estranged pair’s relationship that had fans at home most in shock.

Instead, they were left up in arms at the sight of the plate, taking to social media to complain about the “uncooked” looking bacon, sausage, and eggs that flashed across the screen.

Viewers suggested that the unappetising plate was so bad, it looked like something they would feed their pets.

Posting a picture of the breakfast plate, one fumed: “What is that bacon?!”

Another added: “That doesn’t even look cooked.”

A third said: “Since when has Denise been veggie? Bacon looks like something you’d give the dog.”

In 2020 EastEnders bosses brought in an “eco consultant” to cut down on the show’s carbon emissions, who suggested that the caff go green.

It meant that the meals served up in Ian Beale’s greasy spoon were swapped for vegetarian meals.

An insider revealed at the time: “When Ian Beale tucks into a full English at the caff, not a rind of bacon will pass his lips – it’s Quorn sausages and bacon, and kidney beans for black pudding.

“EastEnders’ bosses want to do their bit for the environment and this is all part of a massive ongoing drive to reduce carbon emissions.

“It means less food is wasted as veggie or vegan items can be re-heated — and obviously pigs, cows, and sheep aren’t being slaughtered.”
