Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace) and Alfie Moon (Shane Richie) have finally reunited in EastEnders – but have been
left disgusted by a gift from Mo Harris (Laila Morse).
It was only a matter of time that #Kalfie reconciled, given they’ve been living together for quite some time following her
separation from husband Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden).
Alfie’s also shown her a great deal of support after learning that their son Tommy (Sonny Kendall) had been abusing Kat and their young twins Bert and Ernie.
With the teen currently living with neighbour Zack Hudson (James Farrar) following social services involvement, the two have grown closer to build up their support network.
First signs of a reunion came following a meeting with the social worker, who advised that there was a lengthy process ahead in order to get him home for Christmas.
Touched by Alfie’s words during the difficult intervention, Kat leaned in for a kiss.
The infamous couple then turned to other locals for relationship advice, with a spooky sign from dearly departed Nana Moon convincing Alfie that they should give things another go.
When Kat returned, they jumped to the conclusion that they had too much history behind them, but when a towel caught fire on the hob – things soon changed. They realised that the spark was still there and locked lips again whilst watching the Bonfire Night fireworks.
In tonight’s episode, they woke up in bed together and things were a little awkward for Alfie.
He admitted that he needed to speak to a doctor as he feared he couldn’t be the ‘lover that she needs.’
After speaking with Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) about his erectile dysfunction -which is a side effect of his prostate cancer – he was reassured that there is more to life, and a relationship, than sex.
In the pub, Kat was catching up with Kim Fox (Tameka Empson) and Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe), talking about the previous evening’s celebrations. Ian overheard them giggling and assumed they were talking about Alfie’s troubles, and asserted that it wasn’t a laughing matter.
Kat and Alfie: A complex EastEnders love sto
On-off EastEnders couple Kat Slater and Alfie Moon have a long and complicated history, which began when they were part of a will-they-won’t-they storyline while working behind the bar of the Queen Vic in 2002.
After finally getting together, they tied the knot on Christmas Day 2003, but were ripped apart a year later by Kat’s jealous ex, gangster Andy Hunter (Michael Higgs), who threatened to kill Alfie unless Kat slept with him.
Realising their feelings for one another were still there, they gave their marriage another shot and left Walford for pastures new at the end of 2005.
Five years later, they made a bombshell comeback when it was revealed Kat had been having an affair with Alfie’s cousin Michael Moon (Steve John Shepherd) and was pregnant with his son.
They eventually reconciled, with Alfie agreeing to bring Tommy up as his own. However, they were heartbroken when their baby ‘died’ – before it was later revealed Ronnie Mitchell had actually swapped their baby with her son James, who had died from cot death.
After a joyous reunion with baby Tommy, the pair were torn apart again when Kat’s subsequent affair with Derek Branning (Jamie Foreman) was exposed.
But a reconciliation eventually followed – as did their twin sons Bert and Ernie – before Kat and Alfie swapped the Square for Spain in 2016 after winning big on the lottery.
Two years later, a broke Kat returned to Walford having split from Alfie again, after cheating on him. When he later followed home, the couple had a short-lived reunion before Alfie was revealed as the father of Kat’s cousin Hayley Slater’s (Katie Jarvis) baby daughter Cherry.
With their relationship in tatters, Alfie did a bunk from Walford in 2019 after scamming £50k out of Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden), who Kat later went on to have an unlikely relationship with.
When Alfie returned to Albert Square again three years later, he sabotaged Kat’s wedding to Phil, but it wasn’t enough to split them up and they rescheduled their nuptials.
However, after Kat discovered Phil had cheated on her with Emma Harding (Patsy Kensit), the pair split and she moved in with Alfie.
Word then quickly spread around Albert Square!
Mo cornered Alfie to talk to him about it, and explained that Stevie Mitchell (Alan Ford) had experienced similar issues during their brief relationship earlier in the year.
In a bizarre twist, she handed him a box and told him that it contained something belonging to Stevie that would help him out – but it might want to ‘run it under the tap first.’
Back at home, Kat reassured him that his erectile dysfunction wasn’t a problem for him, and they confessed their love for each other.
They did have one issue though… they had to look into the box that Mo had gifted him.
The duo were visibly taken aback – and we honestly don’t want to know what was inside!
