Cathy Matthews Teases Her Corrie Comeback

After being released from prison, Roy Cropper has been having difficulty returning to his everyday life. Hence, he decided to visit his friend Cathy Matthews (Melanie Hill) in Scarborough. Viewers must know her as Brian Packham’s partner. However, the actress currently stars as Clinical Lead Siobhan Mackenzie in BBC One’s Casualty.

Roy looked completely different in the most recent episode with his fresh haircut and clean-shaven beard. Brian arrives at the café to catch up with Roy and ask if his ex Cathy has started hoarding again. Back in 2015, Cathy became a hoarder after losing her husband, Alan.

The issue resurfaced in 2021 when Cathy stayed with Yasmeen and ordered so much stuff online that Yasmeen’s home overflowed with boxes. But this time, Roy mentioned that Cathy’s flat looked pretty tidy, which relieved Brian. He eventually confessed that he still really misses her. Is this a potential sign of her return?

Off-screen, Melanie shared a photo on Instagram with David Neilson. Along with the picture, she wrote, “Greetings from Scarborough’ and ‘He’s feeling much better! It’s the sea air.” While the chances are lower that she will leave her current roles, we never know!
