An explosive new Coronation Street trailer has unveiled David Platt’s tragic storyline and Rob Donovan’s revenge on Carla Connor.
It was previously confirmed that David and Daisy Midgeley will be mowed down by a car outside the Rovers Return in dramatic scenes.
Now, in a new preview teaser for March’s events, David declares: “I know I will die today, killed by a hitman.”
David has hired a man to take his life by running him over as he struggles mentally with guilt over son Max Turner facing jail for setting the Platt house on fire.
The clip shows him being hit by the car, while Shona screams David’s name after witnessing the shocking moment.
The trailer also teases Rob’s return to the cobbles after being pushed down the stairs by Carla amid his prison escape plan.
Rob has recently resurfaced, and in the clip we see him sitting with Carla and looking deeply unwell following the kidney transplant, as she tells him there are doctors abroad.
She and Lisa Swain say they can help him, Rob appearing confused as to why they want to aid him, Carla hitting back: “Yes, help you Rob, you don’t want to die!”
However, it could be the end of the road for Rob with law enforcement, as police are also seen surrounding the place.
Meanwhile, ahead of Max’s sentencing it has been confirmed that the character will be leaving the cobbles in the spring, with star Paddy Bever recently revealing he will be exiting the soap.
