EastEnders has revealed that Linda Carter will make a “life-changing” decision this Christmas, in

new advanced spoilers.

This month, Linda’s alcoholism has begun to take control once again, as she relapsed after Bernie

returned to the Square and reminded her that she will never be able to move on from Keanu’s

death.

Viewers have seen Linda drinking heavily in recent episodes, and she had a blazing row with mum Elaine after she found out that her late father was gay and was in a secret relationship.

Phil expresses concern for Linda’s wellbeing in this week’s wedding episodes, while next week, Alfie will become worried about his friend’s drinking habits.

December will see Linda’s situation worsen further, with the beloved character suffering a “very public humiliation” in upcoming episodes.

Now, new advanced spoilers released by the BBC reveal that in the run-up to Christmas, Linda faces an important choice, though what it relates to is not yet known.

On Monday, December 16, she will make a decision that has “life-changing consequences”, while Elaine also faces an “agonising situation”.

In the same week, there is also peril for some other Albert Square residents. Lauren, who is currently pregnant and struggling with pain from her previous injuries, is set to be rushed to hospital on Wednesday, December 18.

Meanwhile, Denise fears for her safety in an intriguing new story, and Stacey seeks advice on an issue she is facing.

EastEnders will face schedule changes in this week as BBC’s Sports Personality of the Year ceremony means there will be no episode on Tuesday, December 17 and an extra instalment on Friday, December 20 instead.

However, it is likely that, as usual, the regular Monday-Thursday schedule will continue when it comes to the early release of episodes on BBC iPlayer.
