EastEnders stars Angela Wynter and Diane Parish have received a prestigious awards nomination for their role in the soap.
The pair, who play Yolande Trueman and Denise Fox respectively, have each been nominated for Best Performance in a TV Show/Film at the MOBO Awards, which honours achievements in music of black origin.
The duo face some stiff competition, with fellow nominees including Jacob Anderson, Jasmine Jobson and Kingsley Ben-Adir for their respective roles in Interview with the Vampire, Top Boy and Bob Marley: One Love.
Parish, who has played Denise since 2006, recently shared a tribute to co-star and on-screen sister Tameka Empson after the actor, who plays Kim, had surprised Parish on her 55th birthday last month.
“A quiet birthday this year…” wrote Parish on Instagram, with the post including a video of the pair having lunch. “Thought I’d drop this one from last year when this super special little lady, my sis, @official_tameka_empson treated me to the most fabulous lunch at the @theritzlondon
“She makes every birthday sparkle with her smiles and laughter. And today a surprise visit at home was all that was needed. So lucky and proud to call her my friend. 💕💕 We so boojee 🤣 #besties #foxsisters #familyforever”
The star also shared her gratitude to her fans for all the birthday wishes, saying on Instagram Stories: “Thanks for all your really, really nice birthday messages. They made an old bird very, very happy. There were some lovely messages in there and belated messages today. I’m really grateful – I just want everyone to know how grateful I am.”
