EastEnders star James Bye has made a big life change after leaving his role as Martin Fowler.
The fan-favourite character shockingly died earlier this year, during a special live episode to celebrate the soap’s 40th anniversary. When the Queen Vic collapsed, Martin helped his friends and family to safety, before staying behind to save Stacey Slater.
But in a tragic twist, the father-of-five was crushed by a heavy beam and later passed away after suffering a cardiac arrest.
Since his dramatic exit, Bye has been starring in the touring production of Death Comes to Pemberley, and is now embarking on an exciting adventure with his family.
Taking to Instagram, his wife Victoria Bye shared the “official” news that the couple had sold their “forever home” to “move into a field – and into a caravan”.

“Yes, you read that right. A tin box on wheels with barely enough room to swing a cat let alone four kids + two blind dogs. S**t. Now, you may wonder what in the hell we’re doing (I know we do, both still I denial I think!),” she explained (via the Mirror).
Victoria revealed their plan to build their own house, calling it: “A dream we’ve long since had and just never had the time … or the belief that we could.”

“And yet somehow, when it feels like we’ve got more than ever on our plate, we thought ‘Sod it. It’s now or never. This is our year for change’. And so we are.”
She shared that both her and Bye’s parents did the “very same thing” in the eighties: “In fact, James’ sister was conceived in their caravan right on the foundations of the house they still call home to this day!”
“It’ll be an adventure. A messy, chaotic, mud filled ride – just us & our boys. And we can’t wait. We might even get an alpaca. What the hell, in for a penny & all that,” she added. “So stick around for the journey you lovely lot – and please – any advice send our way.”
