EastEnders’ Sonia Fowler is set to close in on her fiancé Reiss Colwell’s crimes, as she starts to question his true motives next week.
After months behind bars, Sonia has finally been released from prison after a dramatic twist that saw Bianca record a video claiming to have murdered Debbie herself.
In scenes airing next week, Sonia refuses to believe that her sister is responsible for the murder – but Reiss remains determined to shut down her suspicions and conceal his killer secret.
After Sonia picks up on the local gossip around Walford, she leaps to Bianca’s defence. Convinced that her sibling is innocent, Sonia then plans to contact the CPS in order to retrieve her own copy of the confession video.
With Reiss under pressure yet again, he pleads with his fiancée to put her curiosity to bed for the sake of their unborn child. However, Jack piques Sonia’s interest even further when he gives her a reason to believe that Reiss isn’t being fully honest with her.
As a result, Sonia directly confronts her partner with the new information that she has received. Thinking on his feet, Reiss manipulates Sonia and comes up with a clever explanation to put her off the scent.
Having fallen for Reiss’ tactics, Sonia starts to feel ashamed for ever questioning his motives in the first place.
Later, Lauren makes a visit to No. 25 and voices her doubts about recent events – but her words fall flat as Sonia defends her man to the hilt.
Elsewhere, Gina finds herself the centre of attention when she is forced to explain herself to the Knight family. After accusations are thrown around, Ian informs Elaine that he plans to report her stepdaughter to the police.
As deep and dark secrets remain behind closed doors, will the truth ever come out?
