With Christmas just around the corner, it’s a loved-up time for new EastEnders couple Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) and Teddy Mitchell (Roland Manookian).

But trouble is not far from their door over the festive season thanks to their exes Nicola Mitchell (Laura Doddington) and Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden).

Over the last few weeks, fans of the BBC soap have seen how Nicola – desperate to get back with Teddy – has tried to rope Phil into a devious plan to split Sharon and Teddy up.

After Nicola stirred up trouble between them, Teddy had a moment of doubt about Sharon and shared a kiss with his ex, which he immediately regretted.

On Christmas Eve, forthcoming scenes see a jealous Nicola seething over Teddy and Sharon’s cosy display as the residents of Walford gather in the Square for the choir service.

Meanwhile, a lonely Phil continues to shut out the world over at No.55.

However, he’s forced to face the loved-up couple on Christmas Day at the big Mitchell family dinner that Teddy is hosting over at No. 1.

Things get really awkward when Phil joins the celebrations and is in no mood to enjoy the festivities.

A tense lunch follows, before Phil heads for home early after eyeing a warm moment between Sharon and Teddy.

With Phil clearly going through something, will his jealousy force him into taking action?

While Sharon is in the throws of a new relationship, she remains deeply concerned about her ex, and on Boxing Day, she shares her fears with an unlikely ally…
