EastEnders has shared a first look at the deadly aftermath of tonight’s dramatic explosion at The Vic ahead of tomorrow’s hour-long special 40th anniversary episode.
In tonight’s episode, a shocking series of events resulted in a huge explosion inside The Vic after Reiss crashed his car into the pub following a confrontation with Bianca.
After Cindy found out the true identity of her attacker and took her own confrontation with Ian and Kathy into the Square, Cindy pushed Ian in front of Reiss’ car causing the killer to swerve off the road and into the pub where he hit some gas cans, causing an explosion.
Tomorrow, the residents of Walford, who had been celebrating Billy and Honey’s wedding inside the pub, will fight for survival as they try to free themselves from the wreckage of the pub.
In the first-look images, newlyweds Honey and Billy clutch onto each other surrounded by the rubble, while Suki, Avani and Nugget look for an escape.
Alfie tries to keep the terrified Slaters calm. Meanwhile, Martin desperately tries to help Lily, who looks like she is in a bad way, while also trying to find Stacey, who is missing.
Jack Branning will lead a mission to rescue his neighbours and friends, but with some parts of the building close to collapsing, it’s a race against time.
EastEnders has already confirmed that not everyone will make it out alive during its 40th anniversary week, with some people remaining trapped in The Vic.
In a special hour-long live episode which is set to be broadcast live from the BBC Elstree Centre on Thursday, February 20, the trapped people struggle to get out.
Among those still trapped on Thursday is a pregnant Sonia, who goes into labour amid the disaster. With Sonia actor Natalie Cassidy confirmed to be exiting the soap, will Sonia and the baby survive?
