EastEnders has revealed that Linda Carter will face “humiliation” in the coming weeks, as her
alcoholism story continues.
Linda’s struggles with alcohol have played out on the show over a number of years, but in recent months,
things have taken a turn for the worse.
Since the events of Christmas Day where she stabbed and killed Keanu Taylor, her guilt led her to start drinking again. She was rushed to hospital back in August and she eventually decided to go to rehab before Dean’s murder trial.
Linda has been in recovery for a couple of months, but when Bernie returned to Walford and reminded her that she will never be able to move on from Keanu’s death, she relapsed in devastating scenes.
With her drinking becoming increasingly heavy in recent weeks, viewers have become concerned about Linda’s wellbeing – and it seems that the situation will get even worse next month.
New advanced spoilers released by the BBC reveal that on Monday, December 9, Linda’s son Ollie makes a “heartbreaking admission to Johnny”.
Sharon and Alfie are both involved in plots that could involve Linda, before their friend suffers a “very public humiliation” on Wednesday, December 11. Later that week, “it’s crunch time for those who love Linda”, but will they be able to save her?
Also coming up in the Square, the reopening of the bar causes Mitchell drama, and Sharon is at odds with new owner Nicola.
Elsewhere, Nugget goes missing, while Jay is concerned about another resident, and the men of Walford take part in a photoshoot.
