Back in October, classified EastEnders scripts were reportedly left on a train by an unnamed star of the

soap. The scripts, which were rumoured to have contained major Christmas spoilers, were found by a

passenger.

The passenger reportedly tried to return the mislaid files, but then handed them to The Sun after receiving no response from the actor in four days. The scripts were eventually returned to EastEnders bosses.

Addressing the recent script leak, actor Collins (who plays Cindy Beale) defended her co-star by admitting: “Things happen.”

“[People have] left government documents on trains. And when you’re rushing and you’re tired. . . I’m surprised it hasn’t happened more, let’s put it that way,” she told The Sun.

“If I’m reading my scripts on a train I’ll put it in a folder. But I very rarely do it, because people are nosy. I’ve usually got my head buried in a book,” she explained.

The star herself was recently part of a huge surprise storyline when her character was brought back from the dead, after almost 25 years away from the soap.

“I was far more careful when I was coming back, because obviously it was a surprise,” said Collins. She explained that the soap uses “different names” in the scripts and that she was given a “code name” for her return.

“All the old characters have a different name. It’s quite confusing. But they do it so that if scripts get out, people don’t know who is involved.” She added: “They just don’t want to spoil things for people.”
