The following article contains spoilers from an episode of EastEnders that hasn’t aired on BBC One yet, but is available to view on BBC iPlayer.
Yolande Trueman (Angela Wynter) was paid a visit by a police officer in tonight’s episode of EastEnders, who informed her that Pastor Clayton (Howard Saddler) has ended his life.
Yesterday’s instalment of the BBC One soap ended with the Pastor entering Yolande’s home and demanding a confrontation. Earlier that day, Yolande spoke to Clayton’s wife Stella about the real man he is – a manipulative, evil attacker.
Stella was reluctant to accept what Yolande had to say and for a while, remained adamant she was lying about the assault. However, as Yolande told the woman that Clayton uses their marriage as a cover up, things started to change.
It was this confrontation between Yolande and Stella that prompted Clayton to pay a visit to Walford. During their chat, the Pastor tried to convince Yolande to retract her police statement, but she wasn’t going to be swayed.
The strong and brave woman stood up to her attacker and called him a coward. She was desperate for the Pastor to admit what he did, but Denzel Danes (Jaden Ladega) then arrived home.
Yolande sent the Pastor on his way. In the aftermath, while she was traumatised, she felt proud that she was able to stand up to the man.
After dinner, Yolande and Patrick Trueman (Rudolph Walker) were surprised when a detective arrived. At first, Yolande explained she was going to call the police in the morning and inform them of Clayton’s visit, but they were visiting for another reason.
The detective then told Yolande and Patrick that earlier in the evening, Pastor Clayton ended his life.
Left in complete shock, how will Yolande process this news, knowing Clayton won’t ever face the consequences for his actions now?
