EastEnders’ Kathy Cotton and Harvey Monroe have made a dangerous decision about their relationship, in the show’s latest episode.
Since Martin’s death, Harvey has felt shut out his partner Jean, and his thoughtful gestures and offers to help with funeral preparations have caused tension.
Meanwhile, Harvey has continued to grow closer to Kathy, who has been struggling after Martin’s death. When he put a picnic together for her in the allotments, the pair shared a kiss, but Kathy was embarrassed and rushed off.
In today’s episode, Harvey faced more backlash from Jean at home, while Kathy was still thinking about the events of the previous night.
Harvey spoke to Kathy in the café and made it clear that there was a connection between them. However, he told her that they should keep their distance as he couldn’t hurt his family, and Kathy was left upset.
He decided to focus on his relationship and planned a romantic dinner for Jean, and she was grateful for the kind gesture.
But after Harvey spent hours cooking, Mo showed up and explained that Jean wasn’t coming as she had to sort out some paperwork for the undertaker.
This was the last straw for Harvey, who was furious that he had wasted his time. He called round to see Kathy and made a move, and the pair slept together.
Afterwards, Harvey declared that their moment of passion was a mistake and Kathy felt she had been used.
Later, Harvey was supported by Alfie, who unknowingly advised him to put himself first, with Martin’s death serving as a reminder that life is too short.
Harvey met up with Kathy at The Albert and admitted his feelings for her, having decided to end things with Jean to start a relationship with her.
Kathy didn’t want him to destroy his family at this difficult time – but she suggested that they begin an affair. Harvey agreed, and the pair sealed the deal with a passionate kiss.
