SHOCKING NEWS!!! EastEnders icon leaves Walford in sad goodbye – after just one week

The beloved face returned last week for Keanu Taylor’s (Danny Walters) funeral. He was killed on

Christmas Day by Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) and then buried under the floorboards in the café.

When Karen arrived back in Walford to say goodbye to her son, she was under the impression – like

many others – that Dean Wicks (Matt Di Angelo) killed her boy.

In reality, we know The Six worked together to successfully frame Dean to cover up their involvement.

After the funeral, Karen expressed her suspicions over Dean and couldn’t help point out that they barely knew each other while in Walford – so what pushed him to murder?

With that, Karen headed to the prison. She was seeking some sort of closure from Dean, but he then said she should ask Linda why she’s been lying.

In Monday’s (June 17) episode of the BBC One soap, Karen was seen walking through the market with Bernie Taylor (Clair Norris) after collecting Keanu’s ashes from the funeral parlour.

In the pub, Johnny Carter (Charlie Suff) found his mum and revealed Karen was waiting for her.

During their tense confrontation, Karen did exactly as Dean requested – she asked Linda why she had been lying.

Because Johnny knows about The Six, he was able to stick up for his mum and cover for her.

The conversation also took an unexpected turn due to Callum Highway’s (Tony Clay) involvement. He stood up and told Karen that visiting Dean was completely out of order.

That afternoon, Bernie spoke to her mum about the possibility of her staying in Albert Square, but concluded it would be better for her mental health if she continued living abroad, where she isn’t constant reminded of her losses.

With Keanu’s ashes by her side, it seemed Karen had gained enough closure on the matter after all.

She then said goodbye to Bernie and got in her taxi, ready to leave again.

However, what Karen wasn’t aware of was the conversation happening between Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) and Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean).

A curious Phil had seen a text from Linda on Sharon’s phone. Determined to get answers over Keanu’s death, Phil told Sharon he wasn’t leaving until she started talking.

As Karen leaves, will more people discover the truth about how Keanu died?
