EastEnders‘ George Knight has made a big decision, following a major discovery he made in the show’s latest episode.

Last week, Elaine decided to make sure that she was George’s first choice ahead of their wedding, after having a fran conversation with her late husband’s lover Drew.

Elaine asked Cindy to set a honey trap and seduce her ex-husband, to find out for sure where George’s heart lies.

In today’s episode, on the eve of her wedding, Elaine decided she still wanted help – so she called round to ask Cindy again to take part in her secret scheme.

What she doesn’t realise is that Cindy still loves George – something she recently confessed to David.

Cindy was reluctant, but Elaine explained that she suspected George would choose to return to his previous life if he was given the chance.

However, Cindy eventually agreed to the plan, and Elaine then told George to head over to Junior’s flat to prepare for the wedding.

Cindy called round with a bottle of wine, offering to help George with his wedding speech. She brought up memories of their own wedding, and the pair took a trip down memory lane to discuss their past.

Meanwhile, Elaine had a chat with Denise about her divorce from Jack, and Denise reminded Elaine that George is completely in love with her.

Realising her mistake, Elaine phoned Cindy and asked her to call off the plan. But it was too late, as Cindy put on her and George’s song, and she admitted her feelings for him.

George told her to leave, but Cindy persevered and suggested that they move back to Marbella with the girls, before trying to kiss him.

George was furious and turned Cindy down, making clear that he wanted a life with Elaine. Cindy then decided to tell him that Elaine had asked her to seduce him.

After realising it was true, George returned to The Vic and confronted Elaine about the trap. Elaine apologised and said she was wrong, but George struggled to forgive her.

“I love you, Lainey…” he said. “But I can’t marry you.”

With Elaine left devastated by George’s decision, will the wedding go ahead – or is their relationship over?
