EastEnders has confirmed what happened to Harry Mitchell’s ex-girlfriend Shireen Bashar, in the show’s latest episode.

Last year, it was revealed that Harry was rumoured to be responsible for Shireen’s disappearance, and Nicola gave him a false alibi when he was arrested for murder.

But in last week’s episodes, with Zack threatening to tell Barney that he is his biological dad, Nicola warned him and Sharon that Teddy could be dangerous – as he killed Shireen.

In today’s episode, tensions were high between the Mitchells on the fourth anniversary of Shireen’s disappearance, though Nicola was more interested in her St Patrick’s Day celebrations.

Harry was surprised to see Shireen’s brother Asad pay him a visit at The Arches, as he and his friends previously attacked him to try and get to the truth.

But Harry was relieved to hear that Asad no longer thought he was responsible for Shireen’s disappearance, and the old friends made amends.

Meanwhile, Zack told Teddy that Nicola had explained what kind of man he was, and Teddy confronted his ex-wife about what she revealed to Zack and Sharon.

Nicola decided to hold a vigil for Shireen at Harry’s Barn, but she was unnerved when her son showed up with Asad in tow.

But they soon discovered why Asad had come to Walford, as when Teddy arrived, Asad accused him of arranging for Shireen to be killed.

Asad explained that some men from Teddy’s construction work had followed Shireen by car on the night of her disappearance, but Teddy denied this claim.

Harry was also furious and ended up in a fight with his former friend, but back at home, he asked his dad whether he did something to Shireen. Teddy pledged to get to the bottom of the case, to prove to Harry that he was innocent.

Later, Nicola secretly met up with a man called Benji and offered him money to tell her where Shireen was. He revealed that her body was under an industrial estate, which has been derelict for years.

“I am just getting my family back on track,” she said. “They can never know that I killed that girl, or I’ll lose them forever.”

After this huge bombshell, will Nicola be able to hide her deadly secret?
