EastEnders has confirmed that Sonia Fowler will return to the show next month, in new advanced spoilers.
Sonia hasn’t been seen on screen since August, when she was charged with the murder of Reiss Colwell’s wife Debbie. Viewers know that Reiss is the
real culprit, but the evidence was unfortunately stacked against Sonia.
With pregnant Sonia stuck in prison, some of the Walford residents started a futile campaign to free her, but it was confirmed that her trial wouldn’t
be until next year.
Meanwhile, last month Bianca found out the truth about Reiss and threatened to go to the police. But Reiss took action and is currently keeping her captive in a lock-up until Sonia’s trial.
After a hugely dramatic Christmas and New Year, this storyline will pick back up in January, with Reiss “summoning the Square’s residents” to help with something.
New spoilers released by the BBC have now confirmed that Natalie Cassidy will return as Sonia next month, when she has an “emotional conversation” with Reiss on Monday, January 13.
As the week continues, it appears that Reiss will find himself in another sticky situation when he makes a “reckless decision”. Later, his friend Martin is furious with him, and Reiss then “gets more than he bargained for”. Will his crimes be exposed soon?
Elsewhere on the Square, Ravi has to deal with an “explosive situation”, while Denise and Jack get close when he helps her with a problem regarding Phil.
Plus, Nicola’s jealousy continues when Teddy makes a grand gesture for his new partner Sharon, and she later offers a shoulder to cry on – but for who?
