Wedding bells are ringing for one EastEnders couple, who are set to tie the knot on the very day the long-running BBC One soap turns 40.
Billy and Honey Mitchell (Perry Fenwick and Emma Barton) will walk down the aisle on February 19, 2025, as confirmed during the Christmas Day episode, which is the highly-
anticipated 40th anniversary.
EastEnders always goes out when it comes to such milestones and the 40th is set to be one of its biggest to date, no doubt, with fans desperately trying to work out what’s in store.
In addition to Billy and Honey’s wedding, the Queen Victoria will go up in flames, as confirmed in recent set pictures. There will also be a historic live episode, that will allow audiences to vote on the outcome of one storyline in particular.
Consider us very intrigued.
EastEnders boss Chris Clenshaw, who has overseen one of the most talked-about eras of the show in years, recently teased what’s to come.
‘I can’t say too much [about there 40th], but it’s explosive,’ he said. ‘Apart from the live episode, we’ve pretty much shot most of it. It’s looking brilliant. Expect everything!’
Ian Beale star Adam Woodyatt elaborated on Chris’ comments, saying that viewers should ‘expect everything and more!’.’
‘The anniversary week is bonkers,’ he enthused. ‘I think I can safely say for all of us, we picked up the scripts and said, “What the f—?!”
‘It was literally “How the hell are we going to do this?” and we have. It is honestly brilliant.’
